Individual Therapy
During individual psychotherapy, Dr. Friedman listens, adds insight, and offers compassionate, practical feedback. By working through their problems, fears, and challenges with Dr. Friedman, patients can obtain a holistic understanding of themselves and their stressors, to gain more control of their emotions, and to increase their preparedness to cope with life’s daily demands and obstacles.
Individual therapy topics range widely, depending on the patient and the unique challenges they face. Dr. Friedman helps patients to process topics including, but not limited to:
working on anger management
coping with anxiety
facing depression
voicing economic and employment concerns
processing grief and loss
parenting challenges
developing and improving parenting techniques
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
improving relationships
Individual psychotherapy sessions generally last one hour. These sessions are scheduled on an ongoing basis, as needed, and take place at Dr. Friedman’s Los Angeles or New York psychotherapy office. For remote patients not in Los Angeles or New York, Dr. Friedman can conduct online therapy sessions using Skype.
